Jewelry for baptism, First Communion, and confirmation
Symbols that may be worn
The guardian angel pendant is one of the most common baptism gifts in German-speaking countries: a delicate symbol of protection that often accompanies a child throughout childhood. In Christian tradition, the cross represents faith and hope and is worn at confirmation as a conscious profession of faith. Madonna medallions are particularly widespread in the Italian tradition and are often passed down within families.
Materials and safety for children
Our baptism chains and pendants are made from 925 sterling silver or 585 gold — both materials are nickel-free and safe for direct skin contact in accordance with EU standards. The clasps are designed to open under strain, an important safety feature in children's everyday lives.
Confirmation and First Communion: from children's jewelry to adult jewelry
For confirmation or First Communion, young people are often old enough for somewhat more grown-up jewelry. A gold chain with a small cross, a discreet pendant, or a first bracelet marks this transition and is often worn for decades. Also suitable: silver chains · silver earrings · gold chains.
Frequently asked questions about baptism jewelry
What chain length is suitable for a child?
For infants and toddlers, 30–35 cm chains are suitable; for school-age children, approximately 38–40 cm. For confirmation and First Communion, adult lengths of 40–45 cm are common.
Is silver or gold better suited for children?
Both materials are skin-friendly in our nickel-free alloys. Silver is more affordable and lighter, while gold is more valuable and durable. For a piece intended to grow with the child, gold is often recommended.
Does the jewelry arrive ready to give as a gift?
Yes, every piece comes at no extra charge in a high-quality jewelry box with a ribbon. On request we include a handwritten greeting card — simply add your message in the order notes field. We do not offer engraving.
Is the jewelry also suitable as a godparent gift?
